CoronaClosings-Schools

North Carolina schools just like with Winter weather and everything else will be playing catch up on closing, it will be some last minute decisions that will tick parents off because there was no time to plan. Mark my words on that
They arent allowing anyone in from 8 to 3:30. Guess they havent figured out kids parents will be coming from all over, home every night. Kids will transmit to each other next day at school and carry home to respective families. Great way to speed up transmission.
Have to scratch your head at this reasoning. We shut down all these venues and leave the most highly transmittable avenue wide open. 60 kids packed on busses, 30 per class arms reach of each other. 100 plus in the cafeteria, hall ways. But heaven forbid the left fielder and right fielder who stand 30 yards apart be on the ball fiedd after school. Ol Roy!

Why would schools close for students but faculty still have to report? The faculty and staff at most risk. That’s the case in the 2 counties closing in S.C.

They’re trying to prevent large organized groups of people. 40 people in a school is better than 800

They need the govenor to do it. If its by the district they have to make up the time. Thats the reasoning.
This makes sense and is what should happen, these are unchartered times with extreme extenuating circumstances. It's really an easy decision and these days would be forgiven.

Wilkes County Schools are in a unique situation to be the only school system in the nation to not miss much if any time. Due to lack of winter, March 20th and an additional 11 days of April are already scheduled off and could be used as makeup days if they need to close for a week or two. In addition, school days here are longer so if school needed to end in June instead of May it wouldn’t be a big deal.

The same thing is happening at my mom's school system in GA, she has to report because she's in a non-teaching role. They are saying all non-teaching staff has to come in from 8-4 next week. How in the world are they going to clean the schools with people there???
