The reverse psychology on this thread was amazing17 at 4:30 am this morning, makes for some great running weather! I'm with Charlie now, done with cold bring on Spring T-storms
Btw every winter month thread next year needs to start with the word "microwave"
How are the dynamics for this system looking per most recent GFS?System 7 to 8 days continues to look very impressive on the ops... SPC already sounding bullish on this...areas i Mau my mentioned yesterday seen to be in play at this time ...
Really quite impressive overall... shear seems to be fairly potent ... cape n such will get better handle as week progresses seems pretty much legit overallHow are the dynamics for this system looking per most recent GFS?
18 degrees this AM!
Congrats to Gainesville, FL on your record 28 degrees
Yeah GFS has it too around 7/8 days from nowKnow folks are tripping on this cold weather for march... but man 12z Euro is a dangerous set up taking place if correct late next week... trough on this run just got broader... model consistency with this system has been great... this system has my attention. To the fullest...again the western. Portion. If the lower ms valley stand to be the brunt of this but today's Euro could put folks further East In to play as well...
My station was at 20 at 5:55am so that was my low.
Gainesville, FL, is proudly radiating like the great radiator that it is with it already down to 33 at 1AM! The record low for the date is 32. The dewpoint is 25. So, there's room for more drop. Go, Phil, go!
Was asleep by the time you posted and have been doing lawyer things all morning - Thanks for the thoughts!
Official low was 28º out at the airport (which is always a warm spot); it was 24º in both Newberry and Alachua, and 23º was unofficially reported from the ag station this side of High Springs; MBY said 26º at 7:00 AM - so it was chilly!
It did - the Airport was reporting 28 but that turns out to be an error in the official - 25 it was! Teach me to rely on the Gainesville Airport reporting for anything (including flight times)I'm confused. I thought Gainesville got down to 25, as opposed to 28, as per this:

working hard today - if I come up for air I'll look and see - might try Cross City and Mayo and in the panhandle ...It is hard to be a great radiator without also being a great warm-upper.
Did anyone in all of FL get as cold? I haven't found any so far.
Damn

Picked up on that yesterday. SBCape, Bulk Shear & Helicity are very healthy on these early GFS runs. Definitely worth keeping an eye on.Active Pattern ahead. Troughs in the middle of the country with systems cutting to the NW of the region . Severe weather is getting ready to crank up

Are we still looking at the chance for Severe with next weeks system?Active Pattern ahead. Troughs in the middle of the country with systems cutting to the NW of the region . Severe weather is getting ready to crank up

yes... things looke to be on track... though todays euro seems to want to take slp little further north than what its been showing... not sure on that. we see...Are we still looking at the chance for Severe with next weeks system?
That's fine. For this one, it gives time (between upcoming court obligations) to go back, read and digest Webb's substantive posts, and those of GaWx, Jon and a few others, and learn a little more (or frankly a lot more) before I pipe up next winterLooks like a boring pattern the rest of the month in terms of severe weather.
Lol... all I have to say ...Looks like a boring pattern the rest of the month in terms of severe weather. Glenn Burns says there is nothing in sight the rest of the month to suggest severe weather. I guess we can thank these arctic air masses cooling off the Gulf which im guessing would lessen the threat for severe weather.
