Those American lives that were lost were lost in the 2003 war. An illegal war that we started based on false intel that saddam had wmds.

Brave men and women are there risking their lives. The fighting isnt here. Support those men and women for ensuring you can offer your opinions no matter how stupid they are. You owe it to them to atleast acknowledge the sacrifice made

You aren’t recalling correctly. The taliban have nothing to do with iraq. So the argument works just fine. Lets acknowledge our mistakes when they’re obvious.

Neither does Iran, but if this general guy perpetrated terrorist attacks then he had coming and recieved the same punishment as the Taliban did.

It sure feels as if we are suddenly on the cusp of war with Iran. I hope I'm wrong and that cooler heads will eventually prevail. But if the attacks tonight caused any loss of life, there will most certainly be a response from us. As I said the other night, it's the unforeseen consequences that make the attack of the general most concerning to me.

This reaction was expected and factored in. There will be a response on our end and tensions will remain high. Its pretty much a pissing contest that we will win

I'm not sure why everyone is so confident that we will win a pissing contest with Iran. We're talking about a country that expended one million men in a war with Iraq. They're not scared and they're not going down without a fight. This ain't Saddam Hussein.

They have been fighting a proxie war against us since we first put boots on the ground in Iraq. This is nothing new

I understand the sentiment but we can't be isolationist either. History, distant and recent, tells us if we do nothing attacks will occur here, on our own soil. Do we prevent imminent attacks or wait until they occur? In the law enforcement world, you don't wait until a shot is fired at you before you can use force, of course that gets criticized these days as well....

I hope it's just Russian trolls but there are posts on Facebook about 30 dead US troops and Iranian air Force in Iraq

It all amounts to they're really going after Israel and that's what they really want to do eventually

Suppose we had NOT taken out General “Salami”..... Never Trumpers, including the complicit media, would be non stop if God forbid another Benghazi or worse happened. Lose Lose for President Trump. Much like Clinton had a chance at UBL in 1999. (Never hear about that do we...)

As far as Irans military capabilities, yes formidable. However, aside from cyber damage a million man army is archaic IMHO.

Ten missiles hit Al-Assad Air Base, one missile hit a military base in Erbil and four missiles failed, according to a U.S. military spokesman for Central Command, responsible for American forces in the Middle East. The attacks unfolded in two waves, each about an hour apart.

Initial assessments showed "no U.S. casualties," a U.S. military official in Baghdad told Fox News

Wrong. American Missionaries and 1,000s not hundreds of Christians have been slaughtered even into the current times we find ourselves at this very moment by the Iranian regime. You never have and never will here about it from mainstream media. They hide behind proxy names and attack anyone and everyone who doesnt subscribe to their way of thinking. TRUMP stood idly by why they attacked Saudi oil fields, tankers, shot down our drones. But when they killed an American contractor and injured 4 other Americans, Iran crossed the line. Trump responded appropiately. Trump has zero interest in Iran. All he demands is hands off American lives and 0 tollerance they possess a nuke. Very simple. Tonight they fired 15 missles, not one American was affected. Iran trying to save face in its country. They fully understand what will happen if one American is harmed as long as Trump is president. I can assure you he want be flying a airplane full of taxpayer money over there, given every Tom ---- and Harry immunity and have 0 inspections and sancations while they build a nuke.

All missiles POSSIBBLY missed their target. If that's true, they are either playing chicken or their missiles are pathetic...They might be in trouble
LOL....Report: Iran ready to stop if not attacked

Brilliant! Hit one drone and no American casualties. Iran could easily have inflicted much worse. War averted... I pray. Iran saves face as does the U.S.

He had it coming and he was a very evil man. I mean he even killed many of his own people (Persians) who were never supporting the Mullah leadership. So the world is much better off with him dead and he deserved to be killed. But perhaps he should have been killed in a more covert manner (CIA) to leave Iran guessing and thus not elicit such a strong emotional response against the US from Iran. Many of Trumps advisers advised against Trump doing it this way, but Trump listens to hardly anyone because he has to have his own way (like a stubborn child).

Per my longtime Iranian friend, a large majority of Iranian citizens has always been supportive of the US and against the Mullah leadership because these folks are Persian and for the most part are NOT religious Muslims. They liked the secular Shah. But my friend was very surprised about the huge crowds at the funeral. Remember that he has killed many Iranians. He was an enemy to them. He thinks that many folks not supporting him were forced to go to his funeral. But he's now also worried that the assassination may have caused some of these pro-American Persians to get emotional and become supportive of their govt for fear that the assassination represented an attack on their country. He's confused right now as to exactly what is going on. Had this assassination been done covertly, there wouldn't be this same risk of these pro-American Iranian citizens losing their support for the US and Iran attacking.

Regardless, hopefully these reports that there were no Americans killed is true.

Yeah a covert operation would have been better, but what do I know.

The other thing that my friend was telling me was that Trump threatening to destroy the 52 or whatever cultural monuments, etc, was a very bad idea keeping in mind that many of them go back to ancient Persia, which date back to well before Iran, itself, came into being.
