Tropical Hurricane Dorian

What if Dorien turned south back into the Atlantic. And became a organized tropical system again. Would it get a new name? Or keep the same name?

It has to keep a trackable center basically but it has happened before though he didnt get as far north but see Ivan 2004 as a big recent example

That one was controversial at the time even inside the NHC at the time as to whether it was the same storm or not

One of the most amazing storms I've ever tracked thats for sure

When it first formed a lot of people thought the NHC was crazy predicting a hurricane or that it would never survive to the Bahamas

I'll admit today i was a little sad it was declared post tropical ?

Kudos to Stacy Stewart for that first advisory predicting a H when many thought he was going to be wrong.

Hurricane Dorian was definitely stronger than Matthew in terms of wind and a lot more damage from wind acrosd thr area but less rain fell locally here.
Only lost power for a few hours. 1140am, restored around 2pm...but the region took one on the chin in terms of trees fallen (quite a few on homes and vehicles).
Also took some video of what it was like in my area...

Chinese restaurant just down the road from me.
