Half melted chunks of ice falling from the sky (fairly heavily) in Indian Trail. This is actually kind of wild
38 and still raining but the thunder has stopped. 1.70” so far.

That’s most likely graupel which is essentially very heavily rimed snowflakes and they’re often found in association with convective updrafts

I wake up to what looks like a strong tall thunderstorm SE of me lol, it’s pouring sleet here

We got robbed, this storm could of been something major if it wasn’t for the overwhelming SER

Wow the amount of cloud to ground lightning strikes were amazing. Easily as good as a summer time storm but with temps in the 30’s. I can’t get over it. I haven’t seen anything like it in my 33 years!

It would be cool if we could get thunder snow tonight. Haven't seen that in years.
Sleet is really starting to accumulate, I’d say near 0.10 on my deck and it’s been so heavy it’s trying to stick on mud/grass

As soon as the heavier precipitation went away, so did the large aggregates, back to all rain now, well it was fun while it lasted.
Looks like another band is developing to your south @Webberweather53 ? little bit of 50 dbz reflectivity

I'll gladly take whatever I can get & cash out for the winter if I really have to.
Sleet has lightened up, I’m just honestly suprised theres not much of any rain mixing in as the dominant ptype is still sleet

Big aggregates being reported in northern Moore County in that bright band headed for SD and RDU folks
Don’t use 911 services unless it’s an actual wreck emergency etc. they don’t care if it’s sticking and it wasn’t in the forecast etc.
Ripping fatties in Watauga check out the webcams. Earlier than thought I think the up to 3” could bust early!
