Pattern Jarring January

GFS is trying for Tuesday of next week for some of us. Light, but something.
Clear trend towards the Euro with post frontal light snow

Wouldn't be a case of #toomuchdryair would it? Otherwise, a light event would be nice.

The cold air is rushing in, so the dendritic growth zone may be dry which would argue against snow flakes. Tropical tidbits labels the "dgz" area; check it on soundings for your area/relative humidity. (saturation)

The wave breaking off of the northern stream next weekend is actually trending stronger and stronger the last few runs. Albeit it still gets sheared all to hell. GFS tried to break off two seperate smaller waves at 12z but now it's back to the 1 wave idea. The only way I can see a big score here is for sw to keep trending stronger and maybe by game time it's a good piece of Energy that's able to overpower that cold press. Or maybe at game time it's able to get some good seperation from the NS and work some
Magic. Maybe that's just wishful thinking. Still a ways out at any rate

0z Euro has a nice storm for NC on the 17th. Hits GSO-CLT with 4-6” and RDU east is rain as usual. GFS/CMC are both showing nothing for this timeframe.
