It was in the 70s right before the great Blizzard of 73 here.

Yep. The storm was on the 9th of February, and it was 70 degrees in Columbia on the 7th.

It's neither here nor there but the GFS was within a whisker of dropping a 30" storm from Winston to Durham. Three hours with a slightly warm layer.

The NBM is starting in the long-end to show some Winter weather too.

Of course they are not going to circle I-20 and north on such a long range graphic.
