Because they're smarter than we are. When I tell my wife there might be "interesting" winter weather coming, she looks at me, laughs, and says it will be gone on the models tomorrow. She knows how this works and hasn't spent 2 seconds on a weather forum before.

Right or wrong, you can only take a model for what its showing atm. The past 2 days have been disheartening for the most part and people jumped on that. I guess I remain optimistic on chances .
