Wintry Winter Storm Dec 7-10

Dalton Ga reporting snow showers... looking for web cams, no luck so far.

even further back than that, into Northern Mexico.
 
After drizzle most of the night, my location in Acworth GA, NW of Atlanta, how has light rain with ice pellets/sleet.
 
I see the meso low that developed over NE GA is gonna be a pain in the neck if it doesn't start moving south and east. 925s would be steadily falling like the 850 temps if it wasn't blocking the way. However 925 temps have fallen significantly over the past several hours, I'm between +1 - +2°C and 850s are subfreezing right now so that's not too bad. (Much better start than January 2017 event was)

Where in NE Ga are you referring to?
 
it's the low that's gonna screw Upper SC and maybe Central NC too.. lol
 
Wow, winter storm warning just 20 miles NW of ATL in Cobb County. I truly can’t remember the last time we had one in Dec. This is awesome!
 
Last time I woke up to one was Jan 2014 but it was 29 degrees that morning and school officials were about to make a mistake that would get kids days off for cold rain chances for a generation.

Well the 4AM Atlanta mets are playing catch up lmao! Karen minton and brad nitz kept stumbling over their words lol!! Their model is showing 3-4" in the winter storm warning area for GA! 4-6" NE Mtns

Fox 5 showed several models and they kept it snowing/wintry mix even at 8AM tomorrow morning O_O

yeah, this storm took lots by surprise, marginal temps, early dec climo, ... but models were pretty consistent some crazy deep south snow was going to happen.

Some short range models keep snow in N. GA as late as 10am-1pm Saturday.
 
HRRR & 12Km NAM have really backed off the accumulation for DeKalb Co...literally straddling the line. Why does it always have to be this way?

Hell, here in CHA we're literally getting scraped by the radar.. .all snow just to the south. I've also seen this before many times over the years. Latitude matters, until it doesn't.
