Misc Winter 22-23 Whamby and Banter Thread Part 2

26 imby this morning, nothing close to blooming..... y'all got a serious heat island thing going on over there in Durham
Haha, all I know is the pollen is getting annoying the last couple days. There was one tree I saw earlier I’ve lunch that looked like it was blooming a little, but maybe I was seeing things lol.

The fact that this winter will probably be a shutout is honestly legit depressing. Not to go into personal stuff but when I'm feeling down I often use the idea of tracking winter storms to cheer myself up.

My last hope is that little bit of noise around 10 - 11 days out if nothing then I’m in spring mode (yes I know winter is not over, we got snow March 11th last year) anything after that will be a surprise cause I don’t really keep an eye on the models like I do normally. That’s assuming the models keep showing the same rest of winter.

If there is a site or a way to see season-end snow totals for mountain terrain in NC I’d love to know.

Areas like Linville, Blowing Rock, Newland average about 35 inches of snow per season and I don’t think they’ve come close to that lately.

Never understood why some people are obsessed with weather in the Mid-Atlantic. I hope those poor snow weenies in DC get plastered.

I thought that one missed them for the most part. I know it nailed the GSP metro though.
Nah 15 miles north of Anderson I got 2.75 inches. Anderson proper got a solid 5 inches and was right in the maxima accumulation band for the upstate.
