UN Security Council expected to convene at 9pm EST tonight. France, a permanent member appears to be making the formal request.
Russia has their veto ready. It’ll be interesting to see what China has to say.

Yeah I usually didn’t click on the ones that included gore but you could get breaking footage from around the world. Haven’t been able to find anything like it since they shut it down. Not even close.

China said nothing substantial in the UNSC meeting. Short speech and no condemnation of either side.
The Russian ambassador is painting Ukraine as the aggressor and is saying they are killing Russians in Donbas and even Russia itself. ?

This would be/is great news for the US as it means that there would/will be an increased demand by Europe for US exported LNG to replace the Russian NG that won’t flow through Nord Stream 2!

The problem is all the red tape, self inflicted. I know there's a balance environmentally wise. But we handicap ourselves so much with to much overreach. Case in point this article. just written. To much time is wasted back an forth through courts fighting groups that overreact to any and everything fossil fuel. Couple that with the big electric push, which in my estimation is far worse on the enviroment ( Rainforest) than fossil fuel, esp Nuclear, NG. Get ready boys ole gas is about to really go through the roof. But I think shutting the deal on NORD 2 is necessary.
Germany shutting NORD 2 is a win for the US for the reasons stated above, especially for our NG industry. We’ll have an opportunity to become even more of a net exporter of NG. Also, Russia won’t be able to hang their NG supply over Europe’s head.

Translation: Russian "peacekeepers" will have to make peace by force.
There loss could be our gain if Biden doesn't let the Red Tape block the way. I think Putin recognizing those area is justification to get troops in the country then as soon as they get there they will claim they were fired upon and had to defend themself. This is like watching a B rated movie you already know the next scene.

I see Putin as someone who has played his cards well in the past. But one has to wonder if he is overplaying his hand this time around.

I think if anything he is underplaying it. This is the amount of gas russia was selling to Europe not counting the Nordstream pipeline. Imports from other countries(US) is miniscule. We might be able to send some more to Europe but in no way can we make up the difference especially with Biden shutting down our energy producers.. And again this is before Nordstream. Putin could turn the screws on Europe and make them squeal. Supplying the natural gas is another problem. Its not like we have a fleet of empty tankers offshore just waiting to be filled up and head to europe. I think what all this means is that our perceived weakness has begun a new cold war.
