59 this morning. Feels great
Agreed. It is supposed to be hot today but this morning was very nice, lower temps, tolerable humidity level and a healthy breeze with a nice blue sky. Really the first hint of Fall coming and right on cue with the start of met Fall. I love this this time of year with football, Fall, and festivals and holidays ahead! ?58.6. Great way to start meteorological fall.
I’ve noticed the shade has been quite pleasant even in the heat of the day. That’s where you can feel the low humidity.Agreed. Apparently the lower humidity never made it to about the eastern and southern half of GA. Low to Mid 70s dewpoints prevail.I’ve noticed the shade has been quite pleasant even in the heat of the day. That’s where you can feel the low humidity.
Absolutely and those afternoon shadows are beginning to get a little longer as the sun angle starts to lower. Doing some work out in my shaded front yard this morning and it actually feels very good.I’ve noticed the shade has been quite pleasant even in the heat of the day. Yes and the GFS seems to be trending towards that idea compared to where it was a couple days agoModels minus the gfs are really hinting at a big ticket rain event starting as early as tomorrow for parts of the region potentially sticking around for 10 days
Let's hope that's where we are headed. I know some local areas have done well with rain this summer but there hasn't been anything widespread for a long time and the general theme at least for most of nc was below normal precip for jjaYes and the GFS seems to be trending towards that idea compared to where it was a couple days ago
Need 4 dry hours in Boone Saturday. All im asking.Models minus the gfs are really hinting at a big ticket rain event starting as early as tomorrow for parts of the region potentially sticking around for 10 days
Not a single low temp below 69. 10 straight mornings with above average temps.Even better?View attachment 121170
53 here this am?Not a single low temp below 69. 10 straight mornings with above average temps.
To be fair the average high here is 82 or so on September 15th so it’s not like September is supposed to be a cool month. Usually get that first cooler front in late September and then one last heat wave going into the first week or so in October. I do remember October 2019 starting off as a scorcher though!I wished we'd get a noticeably cooler change in temps but that is just a dream. Every year it stays hot on through October. CPC shows above average temperatures on through November. They show the same thing almost every year. Frost seems to be coming later each year also.

When I was growing up we always got the first good cold front sometime between September 15 and 30 every year.To be fair the average high here is 82 or so on September 15th so it’s not like September is supposed to be a cool month. Adios grass.
Here's to hoping the trend reverses back east a little, but seems that the eastern TN, KY,WV have been the main focus this summer. No reason to believe that's gonna change.
Damn, looks like a snowfall map for y’all from
Yep if it is right then it's goodbye drought. And I’ll take an order for the 18z GFS and so would everyone else.
Let’s keep in mind the GFS was showing virtually the same thing for late next week at 354 hours out.
Interesting. September is the 3rd driest month in Atlanta.September is tied for 3rd wettest month for my area. I like seeing it add up.
Look at that dry spot right over Wake Co.The weather is really strange this year. Normally September is a pretty dry month, but the next week looks very wet for most of us. View attachment 121211
