You are right in the fact he has got to recruit better, and hopefully Jackson, Powell, and now Caleb are a sign of that. RJ was good previously because of that big man you described, less load for RJ to carry and better shot selection as a result which is one reason we were better last season.

We failed in the portal more so than recruiting. But both are still a failure. Recruiting from 2 seasons ago and portal for this year. Our portal guys aren’t doing squat. Both the previous years yes. Our recruiting from 2 years ago was horrible. Little better this year.

I agree with your insight on thd team. You guys are going to have to hit the portal hard this off-season to go along with Wilson. Huberts first year he struck gold with Manek but the next year Nance was no where near the clutch shooter Manek was and no comparison there between the two and it's been down hill ever since in the portal for Hubert. The way college basketball is today you can build a team overnight with the portal and nil crap but will they click together. It's hit or miss. I wish Duke could get a player to stay more than one year but we are going with the one and dones. Schyer is not going to change it but if you can pick up some experience in the portal like brown and gillis you can make it work. Will see how it shakes out. If we have a bad shooting night we could go home early. Nothing a guarantee.

PPL Can say it doesnt make sense ect... Look no further than Zion Williamson and what hes done to New Orleans over the last few years. Essentially Holding them hostage yearly bc hes plays 40 games a year and his talent is definitely there when active but hes rarely active. Those on the inside in Dallas felt Luka was trending towards that bc they related his recent injuries to weight gain and weight gain to lack of discipline. Now, Come this summer theyd owe Luka 350ish MILLION Super Max deal, and he was gonna sign it 100%. Once he does youre stuck with him for the duration, so if you had any SLIGHT thoughts he was gonna trend down from here or was already at his peak you had to move before his huge deal handicapped the cap for 5yrs. Im of the rare crowd I believe mavs got better in the short term, AD fits much better next to Kyrie and Klay than Luka. Its not gonna work in LA with him and Crybaby Bron, for one.....Bron gonna have to realize as of 3AM Sunday hes no longer the most important thing to LAL anymore, its now Lukas team as theyre setting up their future AFTER Bron. Plus theyre both ball dominant and dont move without the ball.....theyre not gonna click ego wise either imo

I agree with some of this and disagree with other stuff. The Zion stuff is spot on. Points about Luka's conditioning and his general complaining to the refs are spot on.

I disagree that he is injury-prone like Zion or Khawi or AD (although he's been healthy this year) or Ja or Embiid. Luka doesn't play athletically and won't endure the same injury potential as some of those others.

As far as the Mavs go, if they felt like they needed to let him go, that's their decision. But they could have gotten a TON of assets for him if they would have shopped him around. To get only AD and Christie and a first round pick for probably the 3rd best player in the league is just insane.

Plus, I don't think they got better. They had 2 rim protectors already. AD is good, but neither he or Kyrie are number 1s. They need defense at the wing, and upgraded shooting. Zero chance they come out of the west now.

As far as LA goes, they didn't get better either. They're not coming out of the west. I think LeBron is going to play this year and next year and be done. If he stays in LA for his final season, he and Luka will be fine. But they now need to build around Luka, and Luka definitely needs to shape up.

Yea I can agree here. I did read theres some GM'S that are "" Pissed"" at Pelinka and Nico Harrison bc theyre buddies and theyre yelling collusion. Basically theyre upset they didnt atleast get told no on an offer for Luka. TBH, I wouldve offered Lamelo, Bridges and our 2025 First which will be top 5 for Luka. Im about one more ankle injury from being annoyed and by Lamelo. Plus im weird I wanna build around Brandon MIller , I think in a year or two hes a 25/5/5 guy 100%. Lamelo has all the talent in the world but he plays pick up ball when hes in there. Hes always gonna put up good paper numbers but idk how much you actually win if hes your #1. I mean tbh id secretly see the next 48hrs if anyone of note had interest in Lamelo but thats jmo

Lamelo is such a disappointment. His health has been a big issue too. I like Miller a lot and think it would be wise to build around him.

We will not be watching the SB tomorrow...taking the kids to Sonic3 at 6pm instead. First SB I haven't watched since birth. I won't watch another NFL game until the Chiefs aren't the reigning SB champs. It could atleast save me time/money next fall.

Yea I mean I will watch just for entertainment but yea…. It’s already decided. I wouldn’t be surprised if they do t have Philly go up by 2 TD at half just to build drama , then poof that Kermit the frog sounding jacka** will win again in a miracle comeback

I’ve thought about that, but Wouldn’t that only fool the casual Public? No “Sharp” is gonna bet on Say Philly -6.5 Live Line at (-115) when it’s 21-7 at Half. The Ppl with real money they’re worried about would Be all over Chiefs ML at that point that would be around like +250 they’d get crushed by The Sharps prolly. Idk but I’d imagine that is the script real football wise
