Norman Dale should be the next head coach at UNC. If Gene Hackman could come back from the dead, his Hollywood coach portrayal would do a better job than Hubert Davis is doing. Davis is well liked by his players but they have no discipline and no fire in their bellies. That boils down to coaching.

Fire Hubert Davis. Fire Hubert Davis. Fire Hubert Davis...but he beat coach K and retired him 😆 We beat Duke one time this year. That's all we care about. Everything is all good. Get your tickets ready for the Caleb Wilson jersey retirement ceremony. Will be the best thing going on in town. Jersey retirement ceremonys are a big deal over there 😆 Also hearing Veesar is under serious consideration for having his jersey retired now. I got to take shots at you guys. I hear the $hit everyday how Duke is no good compared to unc

You jokers having a good time tonight? 😏

Anyway, can't say much when you blow a 19 point lead. What makes me salty asf is I'm an ACC fan, which means I now have to look forward to pulling for friggin' Clemson and Virginia tomorrow.

I'm also a ECU fan, which is like pulling for a community college during bball season..

I'll be better in the morning..

Can't make this stuff up here. Just talked to a long time unc fan and he said we didn't expect to go anywhere this year after we lost Wilson. I understand that. You would of went further than you did that's a fact but... Well how far do expect us to go without not one but 2 starters out. It's like we were playing with our complete team today. Don't anyone realize we were down 2 starters. It's pretty much common sense if you watch and know the game and keep up with it.

Time for an early Fri NCAA tourney update sponsored by AT&T:

Virginia survives (why do they always struggle in the 1st round?). Santa Clara/Kentucky had a crazy 3 pointer barrage at the end to send to OT, where the villains eventually prevailed. (I dislike Kentucky more than Duke, but that’s a rant for another day)

Bama/Hofstra on upset watch. Lot of DRAMA this week in AL about a suspended player. (2nd leading scorer)

On a side note, what do you all consider an upset? Any lower seeded team winning or does there have to be a large gap? I.E 4 seed beating 2 seed or 12 beating 4 or lower?
For me it can depend on if they are a mid major/one bid conference or from a power conference, but based stricly on seeding I feel you need at least a 4 seed difference to be a true "upset". In the first round, 11 over 6 automatically qualifies to me and greater. 10 over a 7 could be a minor one but not a lot of separation in the teams at that point. ( 9 over 8 never in my opinion, basically flip a coin to me)

2nd round--7 over 2 applies. 6 over 3 meh.

Also think there's a perception difference for double digit seeds advancing based on power conferences. Texas and VCU both advanced as 11 seeds so far this year. Both were "upsets", but I'd consider VCU to be a little more of a "cinderella" if they advance to sweet 16 since Texas is from the SEC and is more battle tested in conference play compared to VCU.

I also think the longer the tourney goes on, the less the seeding is predictive of results. The true "upsets" are overwhelmingly in the first 2 rounds. Outliers are when some crazy stuff happens like when 12 or higher gets past 2nd round. (like Florida Gulf Coast and St. Peter's awhile back)

^^^^
All that said, my criteria may not always apply. For example, I just said a 6 over 3 is meh. But right now 6 Louisville is playing 3 Mich State. Louisville hasn’t had much recent tourney success, while MSU’s got Izzo whose teams are known for being tough outs regardless of seeding. If Louisville wins, I think a case could be made it’s an upset. Just my opinion.

I would not want to play MSU in the tourney no matter what seed they are.
