* Severe Thunderstorm Warning for...

Northeastern Lee County in central North Carolina...

Johnston County in central North Carolina...
Durham County in central North Carolina...
Eastern Chatham County in central North Carolina...
Franklin County in central North Carolina...

* Until 800 PM EDT.

* At 704 PM EDT, severe thunderstorms were located along a line
extending from near Mebane to 7 miles southwest of Carrboro to near
Sanford, moving east at 55 mph.

HAZARD...70 mph wind gusts.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Expect considerable tree damage. Damage is likely to
mobile homes, roofs, and outbuildings.

* Locations impacted include...
Raleigh, Durham, Cary, Chapel Hill, Smithfield, Hillsborough,
Creedmoor, Louisburg, Wake Forest and Garner.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A Tornado Watch remains in effect until 900 PM EDT for central North
Carolina.

For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a
building.

Straight line winds can blow down trees, power lines, and damage
mobile homes and other buildings. Seek shelter in a sturdy structure
until the storm has passed. Stay away from windows as flying debris
generated by damaging winds can be deadly.
 
I've got another big branch down in my backyard and lost power for a minute or two but I think the worst of the weather is over for me. There is a lot of lightning with this line of storms

The lightning core seems to be lagging the heaviest precip. Interesting. Got two strikes within 0.25 miles of my location after the heaviest precip had already ended
