Man, wind is REALLY whipping around outside. Rain is coming down steadily.
I was about to post the same thing. Didnt the NAM suggest an insitu wedge ? I agree that from now on if even just one model is showing a wedge and no other model is, go with the model showing the wedge. If there is even the possibility of a wedge in GA, lower sever expectations significantly.
The Monday system was decent in West Georgia too. Tornado touched down in Carrollton on Monday. To be fair the Monday system in east Georgia was pretty decent severe wise. I don't remember what the maps had for that but an enhanced seems right for there in retrospect.
Maybe if this had been early May instead of early April things would have been different ? Maybe it's just too early in spring to get a good severe weather outbreak.

I thought we were supposed to have bad storms overnight, though. There weren't any storms at all here. Either the timing is just off or this is a big bust with the way WRAL hyped the risk and how confident RAH was.Things are trying to get going this morning

Everything is probably elevated across the area this morning. The sun was out at my house when I left for work, I think the best tor threat will be E of Raleigh probably along I95 where a little morning sun could aid in generating enough SB instabilitySevere thunderstorm warning for Wake County now.
SBCAPE is basically non-existent this morning but mid level lapse rates are decent in central NCEverything is probably elevated across the area this morning. Great recipe for hail and windSBCAPE is basically non-existent this morning but mid level lapse rates are decent in central NC
Yeah, that's why I said we usually need some clearing and sun to get things going here. Without that it's hard to have the spark to fire things up.Sounding from the NC state campus![]()
well that turned out like crap from my phone but....nice lapse rates and hodo, cape is very limited and cinh is pretty high. You take this hodo and lapse rates and shift them mid afternoon and we are in big trouble

Thanks!! I'm curious about the little area of SBCAPE taking shape behind this line and the storms forming from Greensboro to Rockingham
And the ground hog crawls back into his hole.... LolLooking at the visible satellite there is a little area of sun to the west between the current storms and that area which might be boosting cape a little, also that area appears to be right along the front. I'm curious about it but we will see
nvm that clearing was the shadow from the storms in Johnston county...
Hmm ok...so how does one do that? Lol
And those storms appear to be weakening as they get up this way
of course the best part of a storm moves over my house when I'm at workAnd the ground hog crawls back into his hole.... Lol
Lol mine too, look at the cell headed into Halifax Co, nice bowing segment.....of course the best part of a storm moves over my house when I'm at work

Funny how employers close for snow storms but if there was a big tornado outbreak going on they're like come on in, you can still drive in it. We don't even have a designated area at the office to go for a tornado. I said I'm headed to the bathroom in case we get a warning this way.of course the best part of a storm moves over my house when I'm at work
