Sitting at 31/6 I see the 0z hrrr doesn't do much

Neither does the 0z NAM

Flipped radarscope into expert mode and there are a lot of light returns around but probably way too light to get through the dry air

I just did that too had never looked at expert mode till you said that... 32/10 here I'm not holding my breath

Is it time to break out the Ron Paul gif? Lol

Seriously though that's interesting if that's accurate report

Judging by precip type radar the virga echoes are showing snow nc,va state line counties. So If you could get something to reach the ground it would definetly be sleet in next hour in NC, if not a quick flake or two. But this stuff is so light and shallow with such dry air. Be hard pressed to overcome. Well see

Nice little band to your south, maybe you get an ice pellet or flurry... would be nice to see the radar fill in instead of these patches

East wind at 12 G 18.  DP 16.  Temp slowly falling...34.0.  Already below the forecast of 35.  Too bad there isn't any precip around north ga!

Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
That's the problem. We just cant quite ever get the precip and cold temps to come together.

That's a nice little wedge we got ourselves.  Seems to have held the warming at bay for the time being at the al/ga line.  Those folks have been near 50 today and have fallen back some.

.05 precip, max.  i just went outisde and busted my butt in the boonies though.

Roads around Raleigh sound really bad. Hundreds of wrecks and cars stuck. It doesn't take much to cause big problems on the roads

Sounds pretty crazy out your way, for a " non-event" lol

Up to 31.6 light icing on trees, decks, roofs and apparently quite the mess on the roads

Had a nice glaze this morning probably about 1/16 of an inch or a little better on vehicles. For the most part roads were fine but overpasses were a sheet of ice

what a waste of time this event was. i ended up with 1 bead of ice on a metal rail.  it took a metal surface that was 5F or colder than the air temperature to get a bead of frozen liquid.  From the precip amount, even that struggled.

The struggle is real in CAE
