There are stories everywhere about people who have done nothing but look for work and finding nothing. Some putting 200+ applications in and not even getting 1 interview. I take it most on here have never been laid off. Not everyone can be perfect and find something the next day like most Republicans think people can if they do lose their job.

Brent you don't post a whole lot that I agree with, but this I agree with 100 percent. Don't rely on the government to save you no matter who is in charge.

Not true, have been laid off 3 times in the last two years due to "corporate downsizing". Each time was due to capital budget constraints yet the execs in these companies made record bonuses.

That's where I was talking about sometimes I work all day to the point where I can't anymore. I rarely take a day off unless I'm going somewhere. I don't like sitting at home doing nothing honestly. I keep months of bills in savings in case the worst happens. I'm not expecting or waiting for the government to do anything to help me

Thank you. If we had good people in Washington this would not happening. CEOs should not make more than $250K a year period. No stock, or anything else. Some of these layoffs might end if this could be done.

Everywhere I go, I see help wanted signs. I've been laid off. But I've been blessed to have some opportunities and to be able to build a career also. It's hard, no question, if you lose your job. At the same time, I hope we can collectively be able to lose our growing dependence on the government.

Free markets determine value. You're suggesting intervention. Morally, I agree with you. Practically, in a free market economy, the idea is ludicrous.

What we ought to push for is fairness and transparency within the economic playing field. We have less and less of that today.

The outcroppings are less competition, more collusion, and less resiliency. The Democratic party will not help you with this, even though they bark about it all the time.

Just the fact that you responded to my post with the angry face tells me that you really don't have a grasp of reality. You have the most populous Republican party in history. You have the most blue collar Republican party in history. And all you do is talk about things that you read on left-wing sites like the guardian.

I did that full time for awhile and let me tell you I was putting up insane miles and long days but the money would have blown your mind.... that's a big reason why now I'm setup for months tbh

There's so many ways to make money now is the point here. It doesn't have to be a traditional job with a boss and coworkers
