If we can keep this storm setup going into January. This would be a board wide event. Only a sign of things to come.

Wish it were December and January, this is the perfect setup IMO.
It's definitely encouraging to see those lows keep popping in the Gulf. Moisture will not be an issue going into winter if this keeps up.

GFS and ECMWF models are trending towards agreement that the trough
axis and associated cold front will move southeastward out of our
area by Tuesday evening. Some uncertainty still exists regarding the
timing of drying behind the frontal passage. For now, it does not
appear that any lingering precipitation will coincide with
subfreezing temperatures but this will need to be monitored over the
next few days for the potential for frozen precipitation in far
northeast Georgia.
After the passage of the cold front, another
surface high will build into the southeastern CONUS which will
promote colder and drier than average conditions from Wednesday
through the end of the extended period. Widespread freezing
temperatures are looking more likely on Wednesday and Thursday
mornings.
FFC says they are monitoring this

Arkansas, west TN and north west MS looking better this run. Alabama loosing it

12z gefs members do show almost all of them with very light snow with left over moisture behind the front, In MS/AL. Personally, i think it's trending north.

I'm not putting much bet into seeing snow in Northwest MS early next week but to say the least it is fun to watch being November and all. :weenie:

I haven't chased in a couple of years, but if this storm indeed does good for Arkansas or NWM than I might chase a November storm. Never chased in November.

No reason to be bummed if this doesn’t work out as it’s really cool to be able to track a snow system in the south this early. I definitely know to temper my expectations even though some of the maps have gone clown mode for parts of Tennessee. I’m confident I’ll see some flurries but if not the winter hasn’t even started so we have lots of time left if we don’t Score on this one.

Euro says what snow!?!

That's really the best that it could produce anyway. It's early November, not December or January.
Can we lock this thread

Gotta teach disappointment from starting a thread about a weak system somehow!

So true...Learning disappointment early is always helpful as we move forward

Guess we need to ban snowfan for starting up the thread. Of course if it actually pans out he can stay. Lol :)

This thread was good practice for things to come. It was just too early in the season for a real threat. As was mentioned before, If this had been later into winter, we would have been looking good.
