Actually I do have Medicaid. You and others would argue that’s socialism. And I say to that not so fast. I support welfare to the low income like me. And the millions of others who struggle to make it but are hard working. There should be a sharp cutoff on welfare and everyone should want to eventually be above that cutoff. But point is there should be welfare for the very low income and there is. But look I am against giving illegals that cross the border illegally welfare because it would overwhelm the welfare system and hurt some of the low income legal families that desperately needs it. My goal is of course to always better myself to get above that level just I hit a brick wall everytime I try.

Ah ok. As long as you are getting some it isn't socialism.

It is socialism yes. But not to the extent that destroyed Venezuela. It’s welfare for the less fortunate lower income brackets. And to be fair I never once thought I’d sign up for Medicaid but when a emergency happens and you find out one of your little boys has a rare condition called EOE. That’s what happened to us. No way to pay the thousands of medical treatment he needed we had to turn to Medicaid for the best interest of our son. So yes I’m glad there’s a system to help in those situations.

That is the exact reason there is a push for socialized healthcare in the country... I would bet at least 50% of the country cant afford the deductable on a family insurance policy let alone the out of pocket max. People end up going without treatment or get treatment and then the unpaid cost gets pushed out to people who can pay. What is the point of a system like that?

And maybe I'm wrong, but I highly doubt socialized healthcare was the reason for Venezuela's economic collapas.

I agree the healthcare system in this country needs improving. But should a family making 100k a year get free healthcare. I do not think so. But yes significant work should be done to improve healthcare. But if you go with universal it would probably cripple the system and take hours upon hours to get care and months to see a specialist

Is your child ok from the other night?

He is yes fever still comes and goes. His stomach still hurts. But he’s getting better. They decided not to test for COVID but did say it was possible. So guess I’ll never know unless we all get sick and have to get tested.

Scott Rasmussen does not own Rasmussen polling since 2013. He left because of the way the board of directors moved the company. I''m fairly sure Matt Drudge no longer owns the Drudge Report too.

Question for someone who is more knowledgeable than me... what benefit do health insurance companies provide to consumers? They profit 30 billion+ per year. I get the benefit to shareholders (my 401k is partially in health insurance). But what efficiencies do they bring vs socialized healthcare? I feel like they just middle man profit to shareholders and executives.

You mean universal healthcare?

I would like to know when this civil war is going to happen and between who? States?Counties?Races? Political parties?

I would suggest an insurrection is underway. How do you explain people attempting to remove and weakened police departments? Why would 5 democrat governors knowingly send infected Cov 19 patients to the weakest population grouping? Who would attempt to frame the president of the US with the help of members in the DOJ, FBI, CIA even members of Congress? Why would ANTIFA ask for the UN to come into the US to provide security? Why would WHO tweet the Antifa flag then when criticized remove the tweet? Why has the Ilhan Omar called for the "dismantling" of the US economic and political system?

"It’s also worth noting that Omar has used the same language of “dismantling” to discuss police departments such as the one in Minneapolis, which she advocated for removing entirely. “The current infrastructure that exists as policing in our city should not exist anymore,” she told CNN."

Honestly you'd probably be better off in a country that provides healthcare and college (or trade) opportunities to it's citizens for "free" (yes I know it's not free). Instead you're stuck in a dead end job with 3 kids and are one hospital bill from bankruptcy. But at least you have you're freedom?
Well, he would be in the same boat in Cuba, except he has chance to improve over time.

It seemed to have been working ok. We have a very good health care system.

Hey man , your last sentence hit home for me . My dad is similar to you, I grew up in a household like that. I know the struggles .

Way I always described it as this, you are in a hole and every time you try to climb out of the hole you fall back in and it’s even deeper than before . I know hard work man trust me! I know what it’s like coming down to the last dollar , wearing one pair of shoes for the entire year and they had to last the whole year etc etc . You can make it out .

Yea whatever you want to call it
1. Healthy people pay for the sickest.
2.People have less financial incentive to stay healthy.
3. Long wait times.
4. Doctors may cut care to lower costs.
5.Health care costs overwhelm government budgets.
6. The government may limit services that have a low probability of success.
7. Can’t pick your doctor.
That’s just a few I found.
