PGA Tour 2024

Tom Kim birdied the 18th to tie Scottie at -22 to force a playoff. But just before that, a really bizarre thing happened:

Scottie wins on the 1st playoff hole with a par after Kim found a greenside bunker with a buried lie and couldn’t get it close on his 3rd.

This is his 6th win of the year, which is the first time on the tour since 1962 (Palmer) that a golfer won 6 by July 1st!

He’s won one major, the Players, and 4 Signature events!

Same group of agitators moving from one cause to another. Funded by the same marxist thugs.

Open Championship leaders after 2 (at Royal Troon)(very high winds today):
Lowry -7
Daniel Brown -6 (not familiar with him)
Rose -5

Nobody else close!

Phil made the cut at +5.
Defending champ Harman: +4

Surprising missed cuts: Rory (~+11), Bryson (+9), Aberg (+9)

Cut-line: +6

Xander Schauffele wins the Open Championship by two over Rose and Horschel, giving him two majors this year vs Scottie’s one. Both have had a great year. This is the first year that all 4 majors were won by Americans since 1982!

Next up: Olympics followed by FedEx Cup playoffs.

Scottie, Rory, and V. Perez absolutely tearing it up in rd 4 of the Olympics tourney!

Currently: Scottie/Tommy tied for lead at -18. Hideki -17. Perez/Rahm -16.

US team of 4: -49. Looking real good for US with just a few holes left!

Scottie Scheffler for the US wins the gold by one over Fleetwood (GBR) (silver) and 2 over Matsuyama (Japan) (bronze)!

Waiting for a pop up thunderstorm to pass by East Lake in Atlanta so they can complete round 2 of The Tour Championship. Scottie is leading by 4.

Scottie wins at -30 (-20 true score). This caps off an amazing year of winning the Masters, The Players, several Signature events, and the Olympics. Also, he had his first baby!

Bernhard Langer continues to amaze considering he’s 67 years old! He just hit THE best shot of the day at the par 3 10th hole within just a few feet and then birdied it to tie him for the lead at -11 in the Ascension Charity Classic. Regardless of whether he wins, this is astounding!

There’s no thread for either PGA Tour 2025 or 2026 (at least yet). So, I’ll post this in here:

Let’s see what 2026 brings on the PGA Tour!

Two big stories at Torrey Pines:

-Justin Rose’s -23 is new record low score beating Tiger and George Burns’ -22. Also, he was first wire to wire winner since Tommy Bolt way back in 1955!

-Brooks Koepka returned to the Tour from LIV! He shot an ok -4 (56th place).

Insanely high winds at 17-18 of the 3rd rd at Pebble Beach caused balls at rest to wobble on the greens. That along with wild shots blown around by the wind caused the leaders to take nearly an hour to play those two holes. I don’t recall anything like this recently although I believe there was one Masters rd (not the 4th rd) that had some similarities not too many years ago.

Bhatia is leading by 2 after 3 with -19 although he was earlier up 5. Tied two back is Morikawa, who shot a 62 on Saturday!

Morikawa has woken up! Pebble Beach is his first win since way back in Oct of 2023!

@Rain Cold or any other staff member, would you please create a PGA Tour 2026 thread? I don’t think I’m able to. TIA.

Edit: Thanks to RC, a PGA Tour 2026 thread has just been created here:
