Per wyff radar it's snowing along the NC/SC border; Caesar's Head, Hogback, etc. Don't know if there's ground truth.

Tbh I bet it has something to do w/ the fact that the temps are so marginal in the model forecast fields that if they briefly rise above freezing between frames, the snow amount goes to zero before switching back to positive values.
Well he's always wrong so we're either getting absolutely nothing or getting buried.

I kinda feel like Chris justice is gonna bust. I think at least north of 85 will get one 2-4 inch type of event in January or February.

It needs to pick up the pace. Immediately. My guess is that it will move east too slowly. But we don't know what else might be lurking in the northern stream at that time, so we still have hope.I know this is the ICON, but here is where it has the Baja energy.

Here is my weenie response. 3 separate waves moving up the front creating dynamic cooling in their NW quadrant as the front progresses. 3 was not the only one that had that look, it was just the most dramatic. Do I buy it, no, but that is a way you could get there.

You could potentially argue the abnormally wet conditions we've had here this year & in the past few years in general have made it more difficult to get good CAD because it favors higher dews/RH.

12z EPS and 18z GEFS for Birmingham. That definitely gives me enough reason to get somewhat excited about some snow at or just after Christmas.
That’s is a perfect spot going into south Texas and northern Mexico. If up stream slows down this thing will speed up.

Deee Teee says high soil moisture promotes troughing. So that would be good.
I agree, the trajectory is good. Unfortunately, those SW systems tend to lag back and just mosey along like they're out for a Sunday joy ride.
