Pattern NC Only Thread

Now that we have a NC only Thread can I pose a Discussion …..

Western NC- Anything West of I-77 (Maybe 321 if you’re being Picky)

Central NC- I-77 to I-95

Eastern NC - I-95 to Ocean

Thoughts ? I’ve always wondered people’s opinion

I-40 and North is also a different to me too that’s “Northern NC” imo ….. Ok thanks I will take it off the air now

I’ve always viewed this in terms of land regions

Western NC = Mountains & Foothills
Central NC = Piedmont
Eastern NC = Coastal Plain

I see these posts and I’m admittedly off. Growing up in Harnett County I thought we were central NC. Knowing what little I do now, that’s probably more eastern. Most of my adult life was spent on the coast and now I think Western NC is the foothills to the western borders.

Hey now I have lived in NC almost half my life now!!

The real question is: eastern or western NC BBQ?

I personally like western more

NC BBQ Sucks …. So Does Kryspy Kreme …. Am I banned now ? I’ve lived here since March 1993 (I was 18 months old my mom has pics of me in the Superstorm snow was up to my little toddler Waist)

It’s definitely been getting consistently warmer around the holidays, especially compared to when I was a kid.

For example, 65F+ days, maybe you’d get one or two of them back in the day in the core of the holidays (Xmas Eve to New Years)?

Now we just get them nearly half the time, sometimes more.

Used to rarely get warm enough to play golf or hit the beach at Christmas time. But since about 2015 or so, it’s been a discussion point in my family it seems every other year or so.

This is the percent of 65F+ days at RDU & FAY between Xmas Eve & New Years since I’ve been alive

Things don’t work like they used to. 💀

Although I am thinking something may be off with some of the numbers. December 2022 featured a brutal cold snap around Christmas. It warmed up near the end of that period, but I still count just 3/8ths of the days over 65, whereas this graphic says it was ~90% of the days (so I suppose 7/8ths, most likely?). The irony is that those were the only three days above 65 all month. Either way, no snow!
