The Arctic dropped back down the last two days and is nearing the coldest for the season to date, which was set one week ago (3/6-7) at 244 K and meant 2021 became the 4th winter in a row with coldest in March. Today was barely warmer (fraction of a degree) and could still be cooling further per the trajectory. We’ll know tomorrow whether or not it cools further. If it cools to BN, it would become the first appreciably BN day since March of last year:

Oh wow icon coming in nice with that upper level low .. snow on northwest edge now .. this really can produce its own cold air .. can’t deny the possibility with models latching on ... if not snow then another 33 rain ?
