RGEM and hrrr busted bad for bama
RGEM backing off totals in central SC. Not that I am surprised. People ride these RGEM/HRRR models like they are awesome etc. I've never had good experience with them.

Look for banding to fill back in. Use the HRRR/RAP & WV imagery at this point. Really all we can do. What is happening right now on satellite looks fine. so far.

Thankfully it's almost start time here. Like SD is alluding to , we've had nothing but outstanding trends all day from every and any angle possible. Now we just have to hold our breadth. Takes alot to get on the north side of 6 inches of snow and that's where alot of central NC is heading. Glad to see upstate and ne GA hopefully get in on the goods. Maybe the midlands and coastal guys can as well.

Yeah they did. However, the overall forecast from local mets and the NWS was actually spot on pretty much. This wasn't ever supposed to be a big snow system and the roads are very bad.

One location near me had .7 of snow on only .03 qpf, that's 23.3 to 1 ratio!

RGEM has the surface temp 32-33F for Wake County and then drops late afternoon, the 3km NAM is 30-31F. The 12km NAM is 29F-30F.

Its weird the RGEM started out looking good at first and then the band just pulls up. Anyway, maybe what's in South AL is headed here...

Ratios will have to monitored like a hawk tomorrow. Gonna make a huge difference for the Wake County peeps. I think it's too low still. Curious to see how that works out

1/4" after about 5 hours of micro flakes if had been bigger flakes easily 3-5" on the ground right now

The band falling apart was always going to happen. Question is how much it builds back up.
Seems like all the models are focused on the I-85 corridor from Auburn to LaGrange and points east.

Yup all city streets closed about 1.5 hours ago here anyway
Don't mean to sound ugly. over the years I've pretty much figured out where people live despite showing location. but giving IMBY and such is super annoying and selfish. "Not Telling" Really?? Anyway, hoping huge snow for all! 
18 and snow showers here in Chattanooga... about a half inch total. Kinda lame.

1" here near Ocoee and our side roads are just sheets of ice. Sledding is awesome with even just this little bit because it's just straight POW and ice!

I'm gonna wait and see before I call it a complete bust. The radar to the SW look's promising and should the midget flakes keep up I'll eek out an inch.
The problem is we bought the higher ratio model images. It didn't happen. Should have kept to the 10/1 maps. Fell into the trap I talked about yesterday.....
