Okay I am back. I would say we have like maybe .25 of snow on the ground. The road is just wet though. Guess the warm temps today are responsible for that. The large flakes from earlier are now sleet and snow mix.

Snow getting heavier last I checked about 6 mins ago in NW Atlanta (ITP). Big, fluffy flakes similar to last month's snowstorm. Already accumulating on grass/roof surfaces. The roads in my neighborhood look damp which is concerning with the quickly falling temps. Temp down to 32°F at KATL (Airport)
Yeah, people are hauling ass on Ptree Dwdy. When it flash freezes there are going to be some ugly scenes, I’m afraid.

3k NAM snowing all the way to the coast and convection along the coast.... really trying to go boom down there too.

The wind is really picking up. Radar looking pretty good for Atlanta. Several bands of heavier snow look to be well NW of the city that might headed towards Atl. I just hope the bands don't dry up.

Im surprised the roads are not snow covered in Atlanta. In Jan 2014 it seems like almost immediately the roads became covered.

It’s still above freezing so it melted at first. Now it’s gonna turn icy with snow on top of it. Roads will be impassible tomorrow morning in Atlanta. Don’t even try it

Roads here are now completely covered, have almost 3/4" of snow and still falling. Roads quickly turned white in the last hour. It's amazing how fast they go from just wet to a solid sheet of white.

In this case the danger is the first parts of it melts and becomes a skating rink on the road. It's sneaky. It may not look like anything but it'll get you when it's in the 20s.

This is the first time I'm really going to be jealous of not being someplace else during a snow event. That cold snow was fascinating to experience, even though it might not be to the same extent.
