Wintry More SE Snow ? (1/16-1/18)

KATL official: 2.3" and something not seen too often, the heaviest of the official reports I saw from the immediate ATL area. Way to go airport! Something else interesting is that this 2.3" is the exact same total they got from the early Dec. storm! So, now 4.6" season to date, which is 230% of the total seasonal normal already.

The 2.3" at KATL resulted from 0.15" liquid equivalent. So, about 15:1 ratio of snow to liquid.

Other official totals: 1.3" Athens, 1.0" Macon, Columbus 1.5"

The 1.3" at Athens resulted from 0.08" liquid or 16:1. The 1.0" at Macon was from only 0.05" liquid or 20:1!

For ATL area, I busted quite a bit too low with my tops being 1".

I believe thats the exact number KATL reported from the December storm. I'm not sure if they reported anything on the first of this month like Dobbins did here in Marietta, but that should put them at 4.6" for the season thus far.

Eric you worried about power outages at all? A lot of the trees in my yard are already sagging. Wet wet snow so far

Amazing the difference in the snow from there to areas back west. We for lack of a better analogy had campaign powder while it appears to be very wet snow that way.

Nope had some then it melted now I'm getting a little bit but still sitting above freezing

That would drive me just plume crazy

Edit appears it may be trying to reestablish its self once again SW of Fayetteville... I'm not familiar with the terrain affects there though

It's puking snow right snow. I'm talking pancakes

That's the positive if you can stay on the right side of the fence being that close you should have mega rates, hope is doesn't not shift back... currently 1.25" here still sitting at 33. It does appear the snow has become a little fluffier in the last 30 mins or so

3" so far. Maybe 1.5-2" on the driveway/road. Hopefully we can get another 3" to get to 6".

Warm air must be working in from the south. Had heavy snow with no sticking for about 30 minutes and now light rain with few flakes mixed in. Looking to be another bust here :(

The HRRRRRRRRRR continues to show slow uptick in amounts over this way with solid 3-4 at the NC/Va border all the way to the coast, that would be on top of the 1.5 I have now. I'd be thrilled with 4" with this system, now if Shane will just keep that transition line at bay and pile on.... c'mon man!

Over 6 and heading toward 7. Moderate snow. Qutersize plus flakes.
Had moderate to at times heavy snow for 8 hours 40 minutes now. Majority with small flakes. Biggest ones have been on an off since lunch.

Still blowing snow reported all around Atlanta, temps range from 17 to 21, KATL will likely set a record low hi today...This snow is just like fine talcum power the kind you get way up North very unusual for the SE..
