March 18-19th Possible Severe Wx Outbreak

From Rah NWS AFD...... ruh roh

Shear profiles are expected to remain favorable for primarily a
supercellular storm mode; and forecast storm motion vectors around
210-220 degrees will favor long residence times for cells tracking
along the low level frontal zone(s). As such, the risk for all
severe hazards, including the possibility of long-track mesocyclones
capable of producing tornadoes --possibly significant-- will
increase and exist between 19Z-01Z/19th across cntl
NC.

WRAL saying a tornado watch is probably coming later.

Severe Weather Update - Storms will move through from 4 PM west through 9 PM East.
You may have noticed a complete 180 in our weather...the warm front has arrived, it’s milder, more humid and the atmosphere is becoming more and more unstable.
A Tornado Watch is in effect to our west until 6 PM and will likely be extended into our area as those storms move east. The storms will continue to move into a more unstable atmosphere conducive for strengthening and rotation.

Given the timing of these storms- CLT may be a hit spot this afternoon. These storms will arrive right at peak heating...
