What's a reversed wind line?It almost looks like a reversed wind line coming in. Big gradient incoming.
Basically a normal wind storm but backwards. You know when you see a storm coming in and you have a thin gradient between green and red? It's basically that, but from Orange to nothing or light green. Meanwhile, here comes the wind. What's a reversed wind line?
no. considering we have hella power outages and trees down all over the metro, and winds were reported at over 60mph in some spots up here, i'd say the forecasts were pretty spot on. but that's just my opinionDoes anyone think this storm under performed in AL and GA ?
I'm pretty sure most in S. GA and Central Ga thought it done just fine, NW Metro and above got sparred some perhaps but alot of outages and trees did come downDoes anyone think this storm under performed in AL and GA ?
count your lucky stars ...In Georgia, given what the actual landfall was, no..other than rainfall where the extend of dry air ingestion cut rainfall by about 50%. IMO IF she had skirted the coast until near big bend area, we easily would have seen sustained near Cat 1 sustained here. in N/East Central GA
I was working Public Safety that night just south of ATL. and I was much worse IMO.. Higher gusts with true feeder bands and "lulls" in between. Plus it was an overnight situation that was "under forecast" by both NWS Products at the time, and by broadcast mets. For those who experienced Opal, how would this compare ?
