Tropical Major Hurricane Irma (Part 2)

Does anyone have a link to a map of Alabama Power Outages? Tried Alabama Power website but looks like you have to be a member to be able to see the map. I know HSV utilities has their outage map, but just curious to see how the power grid goes as she moves up this way.

Gusty winds and light rain. Not much change

Some trees down in Sandy Springs - made a quick stop in Publix and emergency lights were on - couldn't get to meats or dairy, but managed to get a box of wine, coke, brownies and Pringles. Power is flickering on and off here - hoping we can escape power loss. Wind is picking up a good bit.

...TROPICAL STORM WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT...

* LOCATIONS AFFECTED
- Roanoke

* WIND
- LATEST LOCAL FORECAST: Equivalent Tropical Storm force wind
- Peak Wind Forecast: 30-40 mph with gusts to 55 mph

- CURRENT THREAT TO LIFE AND PROPERTY: Moderate
- The wind threat has increased from the previous assessment.
- Emergency plans should include a reasonable threat for
strong tropical storm force wind of 58 to 73 mph.

- To be safe, earnestly prepare for the potential of
significant wind impacts. Remaining efforts to secure
properties should now be brought to completion.
- Dangerous wind is possible. Failure to adequately shelter
may result in injury. Move to safe shelter before the wind
becomes hazardous.

- POTENTIAL IMPACTS: Significant
- Some damage to roofing and siding materials, along with
damage to porches, awnings, carports, and sheds. A few
buildings experiencing window, door, and garage door
failures. Mobile homes damaged, especially if unanchored.
Unsecured lightweight objects become dangerous projectiles.
- Several large trees snapped or uprooted, but with greater
numbers in places where trees are shallow rooted. Several
fences and roadway signs blown over.
- Some roads impassable from large debris, and more within
urban or heavily wooded places. A few bridges, causeways,
and access routes impassable.
- Scattered power and communications outages, but more
prevalent in areas with above ground lines.

This makes no sense.

It would have been great if you found a coke with Irma's name on it lol

Sounds like a good haul to me. Especially the wine!
