North Georgia folks, my forecast is on track. Here is my latest blog discussing the impacts here for north Georgia from Irma.

The longer she stayed over Cuba, the further West she'd go. Don't forget those water temperatures on her way too. She'll likely be just fine strength wise.

One thing I see that needs to really be watched. It looks like Cuba has really tightened the inner circulation. So while yes Irma is a large hurricane, the inner core may stay very small. In effect what I'm saying is do not be surprised to see this go gangbusters and intensify very quickly.

Yes as she weakens the wind field spread out and grow and some pretty good gust will be ongoing

I wonder why? A faster storm coming from the gulf should cause more issues across northern portions not less?
