Tropical Major Hurricane Helene

Need to do something or wildfires are a big risk the next few years.

Unfortunately that wont happen. You have to establish ownership of timber first before a contract can be created - also - the wood needs to be pulled off the ground (now) while still green - once rot sets in - its essentially worthless. The wood also fell in a way that was twisted by the wind -and not like a normal tree cut by an experienced feller. Think of it the same way as any vegetable or fruit. Wildfires will be a huge risk next year - and year after.

Finally got power in the sticks. 10 days and a full fridge of food spoiled but it could've been worse.
Congrats! I am about 3 miles from downtown Asheville, still no power, no water, and no date for expected restoration. But still one of the lucky ones with no significant damage, so as you say, could be easily worse.
