Tropical Major Hurricane Helene

Valdosta Ga had sustained winds of 102 with Gusts of 133. Considering the damage in Augusta and in between, It's not unreasonable to assume 100 mph Gusts that far inland.
I have a cousin that lives in Valdosta and her and her husband and daughter and grandson rode out the storm a couple miles from their at a friends house. She said the friend has a home weather station and it showed the winds topping out at 98mph sustained and gusted to 134mph. So it seems that was a legitimate wind report there.

One positive note of interest that came from Helene: all of the procrastinators out there who like to wait until the last minute to file their tax returns will have until May 1st 2025 to get that done without an extension for 2024 and with an extension for 2023 returns in states affected by the storm.
