Tropical Major Hurricane Florence

The 12z Euro is east of yesterday's run thru 24 HR.
New NHC advisory has downgraded Florence to a strong Category 3 hurricane with 125 MPH winds and the pressure have gone up to 948 mb.
I was on Ocracoke in mid July. Very fragile piece of land. Medium storm surge and that place is most definitely under water

Euro starting to bend southwest off the coast of southwestern North Carolina at 42 hours.

The shear must really be affecting her more than previously thought.
Missing that 1027 HP over NH?
12Z Euro at 48 has a very slightly weaker blocking high with Flo in nearly identical position. My guess based on this: she won't go as far SW or as far back offshore as prior run. Better news for down here if so. Let's see.

Hurricane force wind gusts surging inland...
Confirmed by 72 hour location. High has different orientation and should take it back inland sooner and not as far south. Good for SAV at least.

Looks like an EWRC is in process, broadening the wind field and causing some pressure rises.

Maximum inland extent of the gusts into NC this run, may see widespread power outages southeast of the Triangle if this verifies.
