Euro does have a west bias and gfs has an east bias. That is true in most cases. Not all, but most.

Seems to be closer to 12 to 18 with this storm. Last 2 have been fast so if its doing it again it'll be complete tonight to early tomorrow morning.
Have there been two already? I haven't been playing close attention, I guess. I though the one that started a couple days ago took a good while to finish up.

#Florence will likely approach the SE NC coast and then stall. After stalling, a slow movement to the SW is likely before eventually going inland, likely along the SC coast. This will likely be an extremely slow and painful crawl.
For the NC coast from Cape Lookout south through Myrtle Beach & possibly Charleston, this could be a 36-48 hour pounding from hurricane force winds. Much longer duration than w/ a typical hurricane. Heed evacuation orders. Storm surge potential with multiple tide cycles.
Heavy rains are still a huge concern, & extreme rain totals are still on the table. The footprint of where that occurs remains in question, but at this point, I would favor areas south of I-40 in NC (Hwy 70 near coast) & down into a good chunk of SC. GFS model as reference.
One final note this morning..... this is the strangest and most complicated hurricane landfall forecast I've ever been personally involved with. Extremely difficult forecast, and future revisions are possible.

I might argue shorter because unlike the last two, this one is starting off fully disconnected from the current eye wall and seems to be uniformly building in all around the current center.
Yeah, I saw a post somewhere about it and it had them mostly doing the Euro dance down the coast and through SC.

What kind of impacts could this have on the coastal NUKE PLANT in NC? What kind of precaution can they take to ensure safety? NOBODY is talking about this...crazy!

"To prepare for the storm, nuclear operators check on backup diesel generators to make sure they have enough fuel, conduct site walk downs and secure any loose equipment that could become a projectile in the wind, said Hannah at the NRC. "Most of the plants have gone through or are going through their pre-storm preparations now," Hannah said. About 12 hours before the hurricane arrives, the reactors at the nuclear plants will be shut down, Hannah said."
