Honestly looks like noise here, if perhaps slower. The tick NW earlier in the run may be something else though for the ECMWF/AI suite.

I'd honestly say it has to do with everything being a little more moist here, and sadly the coast also being too warm here as shown by the temperature profiles.

The precip hole right over Greenville county is really starting to upset me lol
3 runs in a row with the max virtually over the same spot. That's a incredible feat, even for the GFS.
And of course, Rain Cold is in the shaft zone. But that's just how it goes.
Roxboro is the epicenter so it checks out

CMC up nextAtlanta- a dusting to 2 inches maybe! but I honestly think if this keeps up, the short range is going to uptick the total. they have a better handle on ULL. Atlanta, hang in there.

00z NAM at hr 84 has essentially the exact same footprint and bullseye as 00z GFS in NC & VA -- not as much so in SC, but this is also just going out to 12z Sat of course
The concern for Eastern Piedmont and Coastal Plains of NC on the AIGFS is the ULL max out west and the coastal max at the OBX becoming more pronounced and that dry slot becoming more pronounced. This is one of several ways we can screw this up
