Central Wake County in central North Carolina...
Northwestern Johnston County in central North Carolina...

* Until 115 PM EDT

* At 1231 PM EDT, a severe thunderstorm was located over Garner, or 9
miles south of Raleigh, moving east at 30 mph.

HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Expect damage to roofs, siding, and trees.

* Locations impacted include...
Raleigh, Garner, Clayton, Zebulon, Knightdale, Wendell, Emit, Lake
Wheeler, Flowers and Lake Benson.

North Carolina is the only state in the country with some low end tornado odds being advertised today.
 
All is quiet here now. Wonder if the storms coming through now mean we'll get less later on, and less chance of them being severe.
 
Not often you see 0-3km bulk shear values as strong as today in July, trough on water vapor almost looks winter like
 
When you realize a outside chance at snow is only 3 months away
 
We will find out within the next 90 minutes its about go time if it's going to happen.

Severe Thunderstorm Watch is out until 10:00 pm. Got the alert on my phone, but don't see it on the RAH or SPC site yet.

Going to be funny if the only storms of the day happened before the watch came out.

So if you look at the radar you will see there are numerous more storms to your west, so whether these storms directly affect Wake Co and your backyard is yet to be seen, but to think that the only storms of the day happened before the watch came out is completely inaccurate.

I was only talking about my backyard. That's the trend with regards to storms when I am under a watch.

* At 147 PM EDT, a severe thunderstorm was located over Goldston, or
10 miles northwest of Sanford, moving east at 40 mph.

HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Expect damage to roofs, siding, and trees.

* Locations impacted include...
Raleigh, Cary, Sanford, Pittsboro, Fuquay-Varina, Goldston, Apex,
Holly Springs, Morrisville and Lake Wheeler.
 
Damn, the outflow from these storms is intense, almost like a spring day with low LCLs and fast cloud movement
