Seems as if I haven't had a good thunderstorm in a while but I did get some interesting clouds a few days ago (besides the wind the storm really wasn't all that much).
All that stuff just moved through here.
I just got a huge rainstorm this evening, as I make my occasional TV reference, "It's Rainin' sideways!" The one time I forget to bring in the folding chairs ahead of a thunderstorm.
It’s complicated.

I am obviously a bit of a weather nerd when little statistical things like this catch my eye...here's me grading today's climate summary for KCHA. Not sure what math is being used here but it is clearly a version I do not approve of lol. Problem I see is the rounding up on the observed values but rounding down for the normal values, so when the calc is done on the departure it is off by 1 degree.

I love how the RAH discussions lately have been so excited about it not raining. Tomorrow will be day 14 without rain
Meh I wouldn’t look at that as it’s hurricane related so it will change.

This weekend looks good for pulse storms, large cape each day with barely any flow aloft means whoever gets under one of these will score

Yeah this is more typical of Houston tbh very unusual up here
We're much more likely to be 100 and a dewpoint of maybe 60

Hmm... I have had a small drizzle each day the last 3 days, but no full blown rain. Am I allowed to count that toward my rain streak or not?
How can I screw that up?

Looks like the GFS has lost the really hot temps over most of the SE. Not so in the plains.
Been interesting observing the slow retrograding of MCS activity the last several days across the southeast, with the main activity being in NC a while back, then east TN into GA the next day, then middle TN into AL the day after that, then west TN into MS yesterday, and now AR today. Guess tomorrow it'll be OK's turn. More or less a pattern that resembles carving a trough except it isn't any cooler, lol.
