Pattern July Fry and Dry

A new small cell literally just popped up here just before 5PM. No thunder yet, but raining pretty heavily. 5th afternoon in a row with rain!

Edit 5:46PM: That lasted ~25 minutes and there never was thunder. Now a 2nd cell with some heavy rain is coming in on the same track moving in an unusual direction, SSE. Hoping today’s totals don’t get too high because otherwise there’d be trouble here.

Edit on 7/14: Yesterday (7/13) I ended up with ~0.75”, which brings the 5 day total for 7/9-13 up to a whopping 6.35” and MTD up to 7.25”!

Pulled the goose out of the fridge to start the marinade process and everything dried up.

I already have a counselor and a psychiatrist. Thanks anyways
I am scared of storms as they cause power outages, which makes my memory from Florence very clear.
I wasn’t trying to make fun of or down talk you. I’m just saying maybe curb the posts when you’re saying goose is cooked or it’s bad with radar posts that are showing slight convection 30 minutes to your west. I grew up in that area and while Florence was an inconvenience, (my parents in Coats were without power for 3 days) it was slight compared to Fran. My junior year in high school at Triton and we were without power for 2 weeks. A lot more flooding and tree damage.

If the “goose” is cooked over a afternoon pop-up, then maybe finding an outlet to help relieve your anxiety would be a better option than posting here every 30 minutes that said goose is cooked. That said , I’m not saying to stop posting.

This. It does get old . Like we're all having bad weather this year(I had no power for over an hour yesterday) and the roads were flooding driving home but you don't see me freaking out and making a bunch of posts constantly. Bad weather is a regular thing where we live and you can't get worked up about it constantly. Like y'all have hurricanes sometimes too. Heck our goose has been cooked here so many times this year it's dead at this point. Or look at all the people dead and still missing in Texas

Just take a deep breath and think before you post sometimes. That's all I'm saying. Sometimes I've deleted my own posts 30 seconds later because I'm like nah it's not that important

Thanks, Shane. But keep in mind that as JB has been emphasizing, the models have been too hot and dry in the S Plains, where this EPS has the upper high.

Edit: And then there’s the added uncertainty of Dexter forming and possibly moving into TX, which the EPS has almost no signal for. That could easily increase uncertainty even further.

The "cool down"the GFS was showing after mid month [consistently for many days] is now completely gone unfortunately; and by cool down I mean a few mid to upper 80s. It is very uncommon for GSP to go an entire month with every day topping 90 but if the long range GFS is now accurate that is exactly what will happen. This is starting to remind me of 2016; mid to upper 90s every day forever.

It looks like the rest of summer is locked in for upstate SC. Hot and dry. A 70% chance of rain for today and Wednesday has been cut in half and I would not be surprised if it went lower. High temps bumped up a little too. A repeat of 2016 is certainly looking likely now.

Had more storms overnight and early this morning. I don't remember the last summer where there have been so many thunderstorms like this one. I think it's been a while for sure.

Folks, I'm no fan of the heat myself. Late July does look to be hot though which is fitting being that it is the warmest time of year climatologically speaking. Hopefully things will not be as hot as the GFS screenshot I posted.
