Interesting. I thought today was supposed to be sunny?KATL is 5 cooler than 24 hours ago thanks largely to clouds!
Tobacco fields have the same affect , corns horrible though it breeds the most massive mosquitos flies and wasps/ hornets I had ever seen.Gotta say it feels hotter today in Birmingham than it did yesterday. To me yesterday felt like a average summer day. Reached 97/98 degrees. But I dont think the humidity was as bad yesterday as is today. Also these super hot days remind me of working on a corn field in south central Alabama when I was younger. Something about those corn fields and more humidity.

89/76 here rn after a low of 78 as well. Very impressive low . 100 would be nice but realistically I don’t think it gets higher than 96.My low ended up dropping to 78 this morning which is the warmest one I’ve had since the 80 I had in August 2007. However I’ve only recovered to 84 so far even though I’ve had full sunshine all morning. The dewpoint is still 78 so I gotta think there’s just too much humidity to make a serious run at 100. In fact GSP has already the forecast high from 98 to 95 and they seem to think my spot is a good zone for storms later so we’ll see.
Man I found a black widow in one cornstalk before. Lol it freaked me outTobacco fields have the same affect , corns horrible though it breeds the most massive mosquitos flies and wasps/ hornets I had ever seen.
Yeah, normally with a low of 78 I would feel confident in at least making a run at 100, but with this humidity and the wind out of the SW, I could see my high busting low today and not even reaching the mid 90s.89/76 here rn after a low of 78 as well. 87/80
Unbelievable
Sheesh do you live in a tropical jungle? Lol that 82 dewpoint is bonkers.

Clouds are moving out we should start mixing down on dews. GSO has a dew of 64 wow
Wind is out of the NW tooDews mixing , 94/72 now . Yuck I want 94/77 please .
NW you say ? Uh oh we making a run at 100? 94 at 1 is already pretty hot , 97-98 seems possible now .Wind is out of the NW too
I'm sure there are stats to prove me wrong but right off the top of my head I remember most 100+ days at RDU being 95+ at noon so we might fall just short into the 97-98 range especially with the cu field growing.NW you say ? Silver lining for missing the rain???Clouds are moving out we should start mixing down on dews. GSO has a dew of 64 wow
Those 0.08 amounts can be frustratingWe better score on the next chances of rain.
I wouldn't get my hopes upWe better score on the next chances of rain.

Yeah it's certainly looking more like an east of 95 event now next week for the huge totals. With the US1 to 95 corridor doing OK at at least keeping any dry conditions awayYea, next week is dead to me. Back to waiting for September frontal passages or something tropical.
Although after this week, frontal passage might not be enough. These clay soils are so dry, anything that comes is just running off. Might be in need a few CADs to fix these soils.
It is only 91 here but with a dewpoint of 81.5 it doesn’t feel better. I here distant thunder though.KATL is 5 cooler than 24 hours ago thanks largely to clouds!
I'm gonna set myself up an irrigation system and pump water to here from downeast.I'm glad it rained today to drop the temp but humidity is still gross. Getting tired of the rain to be honest
What mechanism is providing the rain? Sorry, I haven't followed to see what system/pattern is driving it.Yeah it's certainly looking more like an east of 95 event now next week for the huge totals. With the US1 to 95 corridor doing OK at at least keeping any dry conditions away
Trough/almost closed upper lowWhat mechanism is providing the rain? Sorry, I haven't followed to see what system/pattern is driving it.
Perturbations within the longwave trough, interacting with a stalled frontal zone. What mechanism is providing the rain? Sorry, I haven't followed to see what system/pattern is driving it.
I topped out at 94 which was 4 degrees below last night’s forecast. I never imagined that I could see a low of 78, have full sunshine all day and not at least make a run at 100. The dewpoint never really mixed down much heat. It started at 77 and is now at 72Hit a high of 97 at my house today.
