Big wet has long passed .. a tropical system would cause more problems for people than blessings for others .. abnormally dry is pesky for sure but nothing a couple pop up thunderstorms over the course of a week can’t fix or help .. some people East are running above average in rainfall by several inches . A tropical system would certainly cause havoc for many areasI'm just saying people keep spouting 'Wet Season' or 'Big Wet', and the Western 3rd sitting sitting back waiting for them to happen....
I could really go for a tropical system coming up from the Gulf right now. Actually sounds nice.

Right at 10 inches for July here vs 3 something for June

Unpopular opinion it's likely not as wet as some think it is other than the far eastern part of the state. Most of us are normal with some areas west of rdu below wrt to soil moisture. We could likely handle a typical tropical system that is in and out since absorption would take place up stream. Now if we have a wet week next week and we start to tip the scale toward above normal soil moisture in the central and western part of the state that would be problematic later in the month of August if we had a tropical system.
Had about 2.5 inches of rain in the last 2 days and there is no standing water so there's room for more
Yup if this weekend into next week are fairly low on totals I wouldn't be shocked to see D0 pushed east almost to US1 and D1 added up your way. It's been pitiful over the last 7-14 in that areaPlenty of room over here. 50% of normal Precip over the last 90 days. I've had cracks in the ground all summer.

And I haven't seen a cloud in 3 days. Roasting out here.Yup if this weekend into next week are fairly low on totals I wouldn't be shocked to see D0 pushed east almost to US1 and D1 added up your way. It's been pitiful over the last 7-14 in that area
It’s sad but at the same time I can’t help but laugh, you know I love you man but cheat coding your way into ice events has a priceAnd I haven't seen a cloud in 3 days. Roasting out here.
This game sucks92/73 here. Not fun
92 at GSO is impressive you are way ahead of me on tempsAnd I haven't seen a cloud in 3 days. Roasting out here.
Its 92 with a dew of 77 at RDU now. H-U-M-I-D! Best kind of weather92 at GSO is impressive you are way ahead of me on temps
You need to spend a day out in the ole whse with my guys. Itll cure that heat affection you battle with lol.Its 92 with a dew of 77 at RDU now. H-U-M-I-D! Best kind of weather
I'm surprised the dew at HRJ was 74 at the last ob94/66 at GSO. Hotter than RDU and CLT. But RDU is king of the high dews!
Oh don't worry I've spent plenty of hot days like this doing manual labor. Shoveling, roofing, landscaping, working out. Trust me I much prefer it to pouring 40-degree rain. You need to spend a day out in the ole whse with my guys. Itll cure that heat affection you battle with lol.

I enjoy both , I much prefer heat though. If it’s freezing though I go for a swim to invigorate myself . 34 degrees and sleet is great swimming weather for the brave !I envy the Hot wx fans on here. I wish I had their passion for heat instead of cold an snow. Id be so much more wx happy, giddy.
Worst has to be working a concrete pour , my bud does that and those pour sites are like 130 degrees .We've hit 94 on the floor several times in the last couple weeks. Had a huge fire the other night so I spent 12 hours in 90 degree heat pushing squeegees. It sucked big time.
Almost like being a South Carolina envying Clemson fans.I envy the Hot wx fans on here. I wish I had their passion for heat instead of cold an snow. Id be so much more wx happy, giddy.
Yes I know there’s room for you western NC folks I’m just talking about the majority of the south East that are running clearly above normal on precip .. a tropical system unfortunately won’t just effect only your backyard .. all I was saying is a tropical system would cause more problems then benefits to the majority of the SE … I pray your cracks get gullywashed like everyone else’s has .. like Shane said next week will be crucial for y’all and a quick tropical system would probably do us fine at this point in time with the amount of water soil could hold at this pointPlenty of room over here. 50% of normal Precip over the last 90 days. I've had cracks in the ground all summer.
