Pattern Juggernaut June

Looks like the worst of it has already passed me. Had a few 40 mph gusts here and some heavy rain here. Was surprised how few the thunder/lightning was around here. I think I heard only 2 or 3 rumbles here.
 
And there goes the power, haha!

This is the worst daytime lightning storm I've seen in a while.

EDIT: Power's back on now.

Pretty uneventful here outside of the initial gusts of winds we had before the storm rolled thru. Just a few rumbles of thunder and 1 flash of lightning that I saw. The heavy rainfall was very quick (less than 5 mins.) Nothing close to the deluge we got yesterday.

Atleast you’ll have a chance of a pop up tstorm! Typical summer pattern! ?
 
High was 95, heat index went over 100 at RDU for a period today. Dews were in low 70s. Sultry 86/69 as of 951 . Won’t drop below 80 till 1 am.

No storms here sadly , don’t understand why we are getting shafted in eastern NC and sc for rainfall.

Even with the rain I picked up the first few weeks of June if this verifies I can give the lawnmower a rest again..... some of y'all are going to really be hurting. Looks dry for a while now

MCS pattern was interesting, not often you get damaging wind events back to back like that around CLT altho it can happen

The heat is really going to kick into high gear here this week. Looks like upper 80s Thurs-Sat and lows at night near 70. Very well could have the first 90 degree of the season.
 
Just read a post from DT on FB, about how bad the GFS and it’s upgrades are, we all understand that! But he said the Euro got an upgrade 2 weeks ago, anybody heard about the Euro upgrade?? It’s news to me

I believe Larry mentioned it around the time it happened. Probably haven't heard much because it unlike the FV3 GFS is likely performing much better.

Heat looks legit though with building heights aloft. May not be daily 100s but a 7+ day period of highs solidly in the 92-96 range with a few 97-100s looks likely starting as early as Thursday and going through at least the 4th. I do believe that we get into a better pattern after the 4th and through the rest of July but we will see.

On the bright side the 2nd week of July is the hottest on average and we start slowly slipping back after that
