The 12Z Euro brings snow to the NC Coast (Outer Banks) and also off the Coast. I want the Euro to look like this for the next 4-5 days before the west trend take place. I like where we stand as of now.

@griteater what can cause a triple phaser it seems like that’s been so rare to happen over the years… but for areas let’s say south of 1-20 will a storm like 93 have to happen again for folks in the Deep South to see snow?Late blooming triple phaser?

Tall ridging out west and a lot of luck! I'd say just sit tight. This is probably going to be the best timeframe for the deep south (over next 2 weeks)

What's to keep this from amping up and going NW also, just like the current one? Is there something about this setup that would help prevent that?
There is a 100% chance of that storm moving almost due north from that spot. I'm not kidding either. Once the upper trough goes negative, it will probably pull it back to the NW for a time. Lots of rain incoming for central/eastern SC and NC.
Regardless, it's a very impressive setup. If that were to pan out, you'd see tremendous snowfall, strong winds, heavy rain, and probably severe weather, depending on the track.

Nice! That's about text book right there. But it'll be modeled in Kentucky by Wednesday. Let's get one modeled around key west a week out and we're good!

@griteater I appreciate your response and I was asking for a friend who lives down in Phenix City Al towards Columbus Ga area and those guys are long over due for winter weather….but I’m glad to hear this because there’s definitely some fun time ahead around the Deep South..

Yes and the weather here can be fantastic and rough lol but it’s definitely different from when I was living in Alabama

I dont care what the precip map depicts right now, great track for NC
Euro Control run goes boom with the initial positive tilt trough setup.....then misses with the second system as the east coast trough is too strong and too far east

Seeing all the energy way south, suppressed on the ensembles is perfect. Tells you things will likely pop closer to go time when they amp up.
Yeah, I get it. Was just wondering whether it looked like we may get some help from blocking around that time.
The late blooming stuff is good for E NC so just see if we can keep that look. Think we will be counting on western ridging doing the dirty work for us here

Depends on where that 994 goes. If it tracks like the coming Sunday storm will not be good for eastern Piedmonts of NC/SC. Now if goes ENE or even just out east might through some nice snows back to the TriangleYessir

This is some of the coldest modeled stuff I’ve seen in a very long time, it’s gonna be hard not to get something wintry during this look
