The GFS is actually better, probably won’t show a winter storm but it’s not an endless torch either. But the run to run changes are rather huge

When I heard the CMC wasn’t great I thought it sucked or was ridgy, this is rather close to something right here alone….

All good man, I get the frustration is there for everyone. Trust me I want some slam dunk fantasy runs myself, it’s kinda lacking other then a few AI runs here or thereMan you’re right I need to be patient

But it's only 10÷ days away..there should be 4 clown maps a day...right?
It's a def pattern change and likely still not nailed down but it sure is looking like the best 2 week period to score. Would love for it to roll on into February this way.

Just realized it’s the 1 year anniversary of this absolute insane weenie Euro run btw. Hopefully we get a few of these over the coming weeks
Looks like the CMC is cutting here and too warm, but would likely wind up and build ridging into the block for a suppressed height field behind it. Just another option of many as we look way too far in the future which we are kind of “required” to do around here because of our climatology lol

Yea, and here's reality for 1/10/2025, Memphis received about 8" with this storm.

Something that’s irking me on tonight’s run is the ridging in the pacific trending stronger and the cutoff slowing down. The AIFS wasn’t bad though, several close calls

Seems like if you get 2-3 feet on an operational run for a storm that actually happens, the reality is like a tenth of what fantasy runs had
Surface maps are way behind so not sure if there’s any precip with this but Euro has a weak wave sliding underneath

Probably would need the ULL/TPV further east to advect more cold air without squashing, probably a rainy slider with cold air right on the heels of it
