3K is much colder so they’re not matching at all.Never, and the Rock means never question the Nam thermals, especially when they're warm.

I'll take the Euro and the rest of the models that have been more consistent than the NAM.

I was about to say something myself. Honestly I'd check the soundings and compare. As we get closer it's better to watch the 3km since it'll have a better handle on local areas.

The closest marker to Asheville is about 15 miles south of there but it’s average is 5”
Yeah 3k was about to be a crush job with the backside, delayed but not denied
I’m not sleeping on this at all, while the 3km is pretty, I’m interested in a backside band

I'm not touching that nam run until something backs it up. What a Trainwreck at H5
NAM, outside its useful range, high res globals carry more weight until 48hrs, warm nose will be real, live it, love it.

5th run in a row with accumulating snowfall for lower elevations in east TN from the 12km NAM. good run for north AL as well. longer range of the NAM but the consistency sure is tempting... ?

It’s weirdly similar to euro for the first half but then during the coastal transfer it says “naw what storm”
I fully expect NAM to keep Coming in wetter for the second half of the storm. I think we keep watching the euro/cmc for any noticeable trends until 3km is fully in range.
small point. The rgem did fantastic with the backend snow in Eastern TN. Like 72 hrs out it almost nailed it. Maybe 15% too amped in some areas. So maybe it’s not overly crazy amped as I usually expect it to be.
You aren't lying that second wave would be the main show if the nam was right. What a mess with the handling of waves around the US
Looks like the icon is staying fairly similar to it's previous runs

So the wife and I are looking to head to NC Thursday morning through Saturday for the snow. Thinking Maggie Valley may be the target. Any thoughts for the locals there in NC? Good choice?
Great choice!! You’ll have to go eat breakfast one morning at Joey’s Pancake House. Maggie Valley should get a decent hit.
