moderate snow in Statesville. looks like it’s all snow and sticking to the ground
Has the ull done came thru the upstate yetIm at 34/32 forecasted to bottom out at 35. Heavy precip bands keep coming and slowly bringing down temps, GSP says winds N10 and gust to 17. Im wondering how low we can get before the good stuff comes in later today. Nam doesn't look as good as the HRRR and RAP for later but is also starting off 2-3 degrees above what we're actually seeing. Later today should be very interesting.
I don't believe so, however I could be wrong.Has the ull done came thru the upstate yet
Yeah, I'm getting that as well. Mix of everything. This is the thickest wettest coldest largest rain I’ve ever seen .. definitely mixed with snow and slush ... I can tell it’s probably heavy snowing about 100 meters above me ! ?
If we see something the the HRRR and RAP happen then these may be underdone. Looks like we'll be watching temps and the redevelopment of the precip all day.View attachment 64209NWS GSP ain’t backing down. 4-5 inches in Statesville? Must be banking heavy on that moisture later this morning and this afternoon.
When is this redevelopment going to happenIf we see something the the HRRR and RAP happen then these may be underdone. Looks like we'll be watching temps and the redevelopment of the precip all day.
According to both the HRRR and RAP we should see radar start to fill in soon (maybe next 1-2 hours). This is what is making the forecast for this storm so hard though, because if this band of snow that models are calling for doesn't form then the best we can hope for is a few snow showers. If you're talking specifically the upstate if anything goes wrong with this redevelopment the best we can hope for is maybe some showers or a mix because it is already very close for us.When is this redevelopment going to happen
Yeeaaaa...don’t count your chickens yet. Forecasted 5-9 inches here in Haywood County...we ended up with around 1.Can’t believe models have held steady with this band over Charlotte, this afternoon into evening is going to be a blast as this baby pivots through.
