Pattern January 2021 - Joyless January

So far all winter models torch long range then they get colder as reality hits. I was expected to have a torchy Christmas and I ended up with 5 inches of snow. It's the power of the -NAO. If we get Pacific help at all, super cold will come.

6z GFS has done an about Face LOL: Gives my area 2 events and even with Mon/Tuesday event thats cold rain, its ice right at the state line. Stays Normal,BN whole 15 day stretch;

Heres the New GFS:

Super cold not coming this season afraid. We are fixing loose the negative epo and the nao is looking less negative each eps run. Cold air is on the other side globe too unfortunately

Better get your pre emergent ready. Time to go down starting now through February. Lol doesn't look like winter in long range and have seen this many times. Turns warm and no rain until March to watering it in. Be great to have down and let snow water it in.

If your complaining with this sort of look, I don’t know what to tell you, this is about the best you can get (at the sfc) especially in NC, I think ice with this sort of look is probably a bit more likely unless we get a solid track further south 17827D61-8682-452C-A1F4-52C503E5E250.png117BC2EE-CCDE-46E7-A4F9-177D3CD1ABE1.png

If there’s one thing that the weaker strat PV has effectively done, is keep the blocking in place, no crazy cold but sure has helped keeping the blocking and I’m willing to keep taking chances with keeping a -NAO/-AO, it’s better than the all out NAM blitz we had last year with the super +AO/NAO

If we had some snow cover up north, that would really help us. Webber showed the map earlier, but it's a problem.
