Honestly the deep south usually only gets one good shot at snow each winter and I'm afraid that shot occurred recently when LA and MS got some snow.

I quite frankly disagree Dan. If you’ve ever lived in the “Deep South” it never gets cold until after “deer season “ which is usually isn’t over until first to mid February. Can’t back it up with fancy statistics like some of the other members on here, but just sit back and enjoy the season that you have gotten in Iowa. I’ve already seen more winter weather here this year than in many of my years, granted not much but I’ve enjoyed all the flurries.
Ol' "Dewpoint Dan" types things to entertain himself sometimes. He certainly doesn't back anything with "fancy statistics". He's just Gumpin. Blount County can get snow well into March as we all know (former Jefferson County resident). Besides, I'd rather have 1 good day with snow in Blount County versus 50 days of living with snow in Indi-friggin-ana.

I was specifically talking about Meridian to Montgomery to Macon and south. Those areas have gotten big time snows in February.

Can confirm. Was covering a high school basketball game in Taylorsville (Alexander county) and came out to the car coated in slush.

30 with fog here. Frozen fog is not that common here. Hope temps hold below freezing until dawn so I can see if we have any interesting rime ice here.
Yeah, I’ll do that unless we get the ridge out of the picture.
Spoke too soon, shears out as it moves east but still not a bad look.

Damn really .. no one wants to see the euro even... it’s been so dead for positive trends ... maybe tonight’s euro could raise a few more eyebrows ... seems like models are keying in on a system for someone in the south .. quick hitter but NC looks to be in a prime position

Our good winter in the NC High Country above 4500’ with some snow cover in the ground somewhere daily since 11/29/2020 continues. 48 days in the core of winter is a good run.
