If you look at the HR84 nam, the 925's are right on the border of freezing in the upstate and 850's are plenty cold with temps in the mid 30's. The biggest thing that is good with the NAM is it is rolling into the carolinas at 7pm.

Temperatures from the NAM and Euro are much more in line with one another as is the timing of the precip coming in here in the western carolinas.

I'm personally not going to hold my breath for this one. Feels too much like the system today. However if something in the final hours changes I might change my mind. Being on the marginal area with most modeling suggesting rain seems like the best thing to expect is cold rain.

Gonna extremely close for areas north of 278 in Alabama from a back and forth mix of rain and snow to 1-3

We need this system to speed up by about 12 hours or so. I think the energy is just about to crash on-shore today right?

Out of curiosity, what makes that cut in Alabama so drastic? Is it warmer temps? Thanks in advance!
Still time for improvement, but further east ( GA and Carolinas) we are loosing upper support and colder air with it. Damn....I thought this one would be better for more of us. Good news is, it helps TX into AL. Happy for yall if it works out for sure. Good news is....The pattern (arguably) looks the best we have seen in a long time for most of this month!!
Loosing upper air support and that is going to hurt temperatures (which are marginal right now for most anyway)
