I think precipitation is done for the most part here in Blacksburg. No freezing rain at all!
Coming down fast and furious. Good thing for the trees and lines at leastColumbia really could get 1/4” based on the radar
Still going over here, but probably not for much longer. Sleet helped both of us out a lot this time.So long, Fern. Not the biggest storm I’ve ever had. But hands down the most dynamic. This storm will be studied for years and is its own analog. What a day. Y’all hold it down back east View attachment 189213
Same here. The top of the sleet is a lot more slick than it was earlier.South of chapel hill, definitely can feel ice glazing over the sleet from earlier. Some kind of mix is falling
Looks like we’ve got about two hours of this? Curious what we can do. I’d love for us to at least get most of the grass blades covered before it’s over!I'm loving it. Sounds like popping corn outside!!

Sounds like Smith Level Road baby! You must be real close to where I'm at right now! My partner lives right by the Orange/ Chatham county line intersection off of 501. Praying we keep to sleet
From various reports from friends I can confirm no ZR in the Roanoke and New River Valleys.None here in Roanoke either thankfully. Looks like we got about 1/2 inch of sleet from that last batch.

i think there are a lot of places sighing in relief right now.I think I’m comfortable saying we’ve officially dodged a gigantic bullet IMBY.
What a relief.
You made one hell of a call dude. Monetize that Substack.i think there are a lot of places sighing in relief right now.
flipped to light zr in richmond, rose to 23.5. praying that "convective" band or whatever is at least half sleet
I think it happened with the President's Day 2003 storm, as well (I believe that was all-sleet in GSO?). I remember there was an area next to our garage such that the sleet came off the roof in multiple directions and fell into there and we had a four-foot pile (or so) of sleet after it, LOL!Annnd, we have grass disappeared with straight sleet. That’s pretty damn impressive. Only remember that once as a kid in the
90s.
